| DESCRIPTION: | This hands-on course continues coverage in selected topics in physics with emphasis on depths of understanding and developing skills essential to the scientific process. These skills include observation, interpretation, reasoning, generalizing prediciting, questioning, and related communication skills. It provides an experience in education by inquiry and background for teaching as a process of inquiry. Opportunity may exist to practice appropriate questioning skills. | ||

| CONTENT AND TOPICS: | Topics will be selected by selecting several of the following modules that were not covered previously in Ph 311; Properties of Matter, Heat and Temperature, Light and Color, Magnets, Astronomy by Sight, Electric Circuits, Electromagnets, Light and Optics, and Kinematics. | ||
| GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: | 1.Experience and deeply understand selected fundamental principles and the key vocabulary to describe it. 2.Develop skills in observation, interpretation, reasoning, synthesis, generalizing, predicting, and questioning as a way to learn new knowledge. 3.Develop skills in oral and written communication, and following written instruction. 4. Develop a notebook of checkout questions, purposes, strategies, and acceptable outcomes. |
