I began using something similar to this about two semesters ago, but I had not seen this. I've been sending the students home to complete the peer review--then upon completion, the assignment is sent to a second student for review. Finally, I review the assignments. Interestingly, the student's reviews of each other have always been within two percentage points of my review. This semester, I plan to use the groups of three for review and allow class time to do so. I think this is valuable.
